The Associate Professor of the Foreign Languages Department gave a presentation on the academic writing assessment at the final meeting of the participants of the Language Assessment Literacy course, which was held as part of the Electronic Village Online (EVO) TESOL project from January 7 to February 12, 2023.
The course aimed to improve participants' assessment literacy through exposure to and discussion of key concepts in language assessment, as well as the creation of assessment tasks as an end result.
The course reached a wide audience of English language teachers from different countries and continents who were improving their assessment language literacy and sharing their assessment practices both in the classroom and online. The course program included modules on the principles and complexities of assessment, assessment of receptive skills (reading, listening), assessment of productive skills (speaking, writing), development of assessment criteria and testing rules, assessment tools. The course was built on the principle of interactivity, where participants communicated a lot both on the platform and in online meetings, and had the opportunity to discuss the results of their studies.
