Professor Stuart Carroll of the College of New Jersey will work at the Department of Foreign Languages of the Faculty of Foreign Philology and Social Communications at Sumy State University. Stuart Carroll, a highly qualified teacher with an advanced scientific degree (PhD, Associate Professor) with substantial academic experience in practical teaching, methodological training of teachers and in the scientific field of educational issues on English language teaching methods will teach English to undergraduate students at Sumy State University within the program Virtual English Language Educator starting in October 2022.

The submission of application from Sumy State University, particularly from the Foreign Languages Department of the Faculty of Foreign Philology and Social Communications, to receive a virtual teacher within the framework of the program from the Public Relations Department of the US Embassy was successfully considered by the Head Office in Washington, having opened a new niche for the practice of Sumy State University in the implementation vector towards internationalization, academic mobility and integration into the world academic community.
Our students will receive an invaluable authentic learning experience not only from a native speaker, but also from an experienced teacher who has spent significant time teaching undergraduate and graduate programs in the United States, Venezuela, Israel, Bolivia, Kuwait, Taiwan, Egypt, Thailand, and Spain, teaching core disciplines for future teachers. Classes will be held online for four groups of students this semester. In addition, Stuart Carroll's duties will include methodological seminars for teachers of the Foreign Languages Department, where he will share their experience of the latest methods of teaching grammar and syntax, the use of visual aids in teaching, teaching reading, culture and other areas in teaching foreign languages. Stuart Carroll has extensive scholarly experience in the publication of academic research and will be happy to advise faculty on the writing and publication of scholarly works.
