Empowering Language Faculty with Effective Teaching Techniques

The Department of Foreign Languages and Linguodidactics is excited to announce the commencement of a unique and enriching course led by American Professor Stuart Carroll who is teaching at Sumy State University within the Virtual Educator program supported by the US Department of State. This course is specially designed for faculty members from the Departments of Foreign Languages and Linguodidactics and the Department of German Philology.

In the inaugural session, Professor Carroll delved into the art of improvisation in the classroom and its profound impact on language development and building communicative confidence. This innovative approach promises to revolutionize language instruction.

Improvisation is a dynamic teaching method that encourages spontaneous, unscripted interactions in the classroom. This technique has been proven to enhance students' speaking abilities, foster creativity, and boost their overall confidence in using a foreign language.

During the session, participants had the opportunity to explore a wide array of tools and techniques related to improvisational teaching. Through hands-on activities and interactive discussions, they gained firsthand experience of how improvisation can be effectively integrated into their teaching practices.

Professor Carroll's expertise and engaging teaching style made the session both informative and enjoyable. His wealth of knowledge and practical insights promises to equip language faculty with valuable skills that will benefit both educators and students.

The Department of Foreign Languages and Linguodidactics extends its gratitude to Professor Stuart Carroll for sharing his expertise, and we look forward to the upcoming sessions of this course. It is a testament to our commitment to providing our faculty members with the latest teaching methodologies and enhancing the educational experience for our students.

Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting course, as we continue to explore innovative ways to empower our educators and learners alike.
