From March 7th to April 5th, 2024, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Global Environmental Fund (GEF) launched the "Global Innovative Program of Clean Technologies for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Ukraine." The project aims to support and strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem by implementing innovative clean technologies (CleanTech) in Ukraine, attracting investments, and establishing international partnerships to facilitate climate change adaptation and reduce gas emissions. Within the project, the Sumy State University (SumDU) established the Regional Accelerator GCIP for innovations, technologies, and startups in the Sumy region. The accelerator held its first online competition for environmentally friendly startup projects and selected semifinalist teams to participate in the UNIDO/GEF acceleration program, which includes Business Academy, mentorship support, and grant funding.

During the training session, six teams from different faculties of Sumy State University took part, including a faculty group from the Department of Foreign Languages and Linguodidactics, consisting of Senior Lecturer Svitlana Mikhno, Senior Lecturer Tetiana Aleksakhina and Daria Medvedovska, under the guidance of Senior Lecturer Oksana Nefedchenko. The program covered various startup directions focusing on financing, financial documents, three-year profit and loss plans, government regulations, environmental impact, intellectual property rights, sales scaling, and global market access. The team from the Department of Foreign Languages and Linguodidactics presented their startup on "English in Crisis Conditions," addressing business description, problem-solving, market size, market entry plan (partnerships, networking), competition and competitors, product advantages, stability and impact, revenue model, etc. According to the jury's decision, the team received the nomination "English in Crisis Conditions" - International Communication Without Stress.
