Hawai'i TESOL and TESOL-Ukraine have had an official TESOL partnership for a number of years. In September 2019, the Hawai'i TESOL Newsletter The Word started a TESOL Ukraine Profile column. The purpose of this column is two-fold:  to help Hawai'i TESOL members meet more of their Ukrainian colleagues and to get to know more about the area where Ukrainian teachers of English work and live. Past issues of the newsletter can be found on the Hawai'i TESOL website. The May 2022 issue of “The Word” had another purpose – to make readers more aware of the effects of the war on the personal and professional life of EFL teachers in Ukraine.

 

The TESOL Ukraine board suggested Lyudmyla Hnapovska, Associate Professor of Foreign Languages Department, as a candidate for the TESOL Ukraine member profile in the May 2022 issue of The Word.
