The Department of Foreign Languages in collaboration with the Department of German Philology held an interdepartmental scientific seminar "Scientific Texts in English: Modern Trends". The speaker was Tatsenko Nataliia, PHD in Philology, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages of Sumy State University. Nataliia Tatsenko highlighted the modern trends and challenges in writing of scientific articles.
The title of an article is a great challenge for young authors and experienced scientists. According to T. Clifford Allbutt, “first impressions are strong impressions; a title ought therefore to be well studied, and to give, as far as its limits permit, a definite and concise indication of what is to come”.
The participants of the seminar learned how to draw the attention of potential readers to scientific researches and give the first idea of the information in the publication with the help of the title.

Rimma Milenkova, associate professor of Foreign Languages Department and cultural programs’ curator, on June, 16 opened an art exhibition at the NATO Information and Documentation Center in Ukraine. Sumy State University is already cooperating with NATO in the research sphere through the implementation of the project "Institutional Support for the Center for Regional Security Research in Conducting Regional Security Studies and Assessing the Level of NATO Support.
The art exhibition was a continuation of the interaction on a cultural and educational level. The exhibition, which was the first public event since the pandemic restrictions, was opened by Center director Vineta Kleine and was attended by Deputy Defense Minister I.O. Starobinsky, representatives of military structures, and the Institute for Constructive Journalism and New Media.
The NATO Information Center in Ukraine is an organization that carries out its mission not only through politics and military issues but also through science, culture, art and education. The opening of the exhibition was a confirmation of the broad prospects of interaction with Sumy State University at all levels.
